Spain and Morocco’s meeting at the Education City Stadium is the fourth in their history. They first locked horns in two World Cup qualifiers in 1961 – La Roja won both – before playing out a 2-2 draw in the World Cup group stages four years ago.

After a strong start, Spain stumbled into the next round. Luis Enrique’s men kicked off with an emphatic 7-0 win against Costa Rica but were then held by Germany and beaten by Japan. In the end, they qualified via goal difference, with Alvaro Morata playing a key part with three strikes in three appearances – he is among the Anytime Goal Scorer favourites for this one.
