The WTA Japan Open, also called the Japan Women's Open Tennis tournament, is a women’s WTA International Tour competition held in Hiroshima, Japan. The tournament was first played in 2009 in Osaka. It moved to Tokyo in 2015, and then to Hiroshima in 2018, where it’s played on outdoor hard courts. The WTA Japan Open was won for the first time by a Japanese player in 2019, with Nao Hibino taking the singles title.
