Autodromo Nazionale di Monza

Located just north of Milan, Monza circuit was built in 1922. It’s the third oldest purpose-built motor racing circuit in the world, after Brooklands and Indianapolis. The venue is known for speed. It’s here where Formula 1 drivers hit top speeds of around 218 mph. As a result, Monza has earned the nickname The Temple of Speed.

Monza is the regular venue for the Italian Grand Prix. It first hosted the race in 1949, when Alberto Ascari was the winner. Since then, the race has been held there every year except 1980.
