OverviewWest Ham United and Chelsea is one of the more fiercely fought London derbies, at least as far as the fans are concerned. The two have faced each other regularly at Stamford Bridge and the old Boleyn Ground, Upton Park, despite West Ham having been relegated out of the Premier League on a number of occasions.
With Chelsea winning most of their titles since 2003 after Roman Abramovich takeover, West Ham have had to deal with less successful owners and an unpopular move from their spiritual home to the Olympic Stadium in 2016. Chelsea have won more than half of the Premier League fixtures between the two, though West Ham fans will fondly remember Paolo di Canio’s stunning scissor-kick volley in a 3-2 triumph in 2002.
