Overview

The Black Country derby is one of the fiercest rivalries in English football. It pits two clubs separated by just 11 miles against each other in West Brom and Wolves. The fixture first took place in the FA Cup in 1886, with The Baggies securing a 3-1 victory.

Since then, Albion have continued to dominate against their neighbours. They lead the head-to-head and even handed The Wanderers an 8-0 thrashing at Molineux in 1893. West Brom also came out on top when the pair faced off in the Championship play-off semi-finals in 2007, winning 4-2 on aggregate. Wolves have enjoyed some moments of success against their rivals though, including a 7-0 triumph in 1963.
