These two clubs first played each other in the Southern League in 1900. It was Watford who came out on top in their initial meeting – they secured a 2-1 win. But in the years after that, it was all Tottenham Hotspur. They put together a 16-match unbeaten streak between 1901 and 1975, a run that included 7-0, 8-1, and 7-1 thrashings.
