Overview
Rangers' first ever league match was against Hearts. It was at the start of the 1890/91 season, and the Gers won the game 5-2. A few years later in 1903, the rivalry stepped up a notch as the pair contested the final of the Scottish Cup. They drew 1-1, while the replay finished 0-0. Rangers finally lifted the trophy after a 2-0 win in the second replay. Since then, they’ve faced off in the 1976, 1996 and 1998 Scottish Cup Finals. The Glaswegians won the first two, but The Jam Tarts won the latter. Many players have plied their trade for both clubs. David Weir, Steven Pressley and Danny Wilson are just three of these.Previous Matches
