This one was first played in the old Division Two in 1926, with the sides facing off around 50 times down the years. Nottingham Forest just edge it in the head-to-head but it’s a tight one.While both teams have enjoyed topflight status down the years – and Forest plenty of success at the highest level – Forest and Reading have never met in the top division. In the Championship in recent seasons it’s been close with both matches in 2018/19 going the way of the home side and both in 2019/20 ended in 1-1 draws. Reading ran out 2-0 winners in December 2020.
