Newport County AFC

Newport County AFC

Newport County AFC were originally founded in 1912, but following a double relegation the club went out of business 1989. The club was then reformed but was unable to play at their home ground of Somerton Park and so picked up the nickname ‘the exiles’. The club’s traditional home colours are amber shirts and black shorts, and their home ground is now Rodney Parade in Newport, where they have played since 2012.
