Overview

It was in 1906 when Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday first came face-to-face, after they were drawn against each other in the FA Cup. The tie initially took place at Hillsborough, but after a 1-1 draw there was a replay at North Greenwich which The Owls comfortably won 3-0.

They didn’t meet for 33 years after that, until they were both in the Second Division. The Lions claimed the first victory of this rivalry in league football, winning 2-0 at The Old Den. Since then they have played regularly and the head-to-head is fairly even, with Wednesday narrowly edging it.
