Overview
This fixture was first played in the 1897/98 season, when both clubs were in the Second Division. It was Burnley who enjoyed the initial success and they completed the league double over Leicester City in that campaign, winning 1-0 at Filbert Street and 4-0 at Turf Moor. The Clarets have maintained an edge in this fixture ever since and they lead the head-to-head. They have beat The Foxes 7-3 on two occasions, in the FA Cup in 1921 and in the First Division in 1957. Leicester have had some moments of success though and they put together a 10-match unbeaten run against the Lancashire outfit between 2011 and 2016.
