Inter Milan first played against Atalanta in the 1937/38 Serie A season. There was nothing to separate the pair in their initial meeting as they drew 1-1. However, the Nerazzurri claimed the first victory of the rivalry in the reverse fixture with a 1-0 win at the San Siro.Since then, Inter have totally dominated this fixture and have a huge lead in the head-to-head. Indeed, they even managed to win eight matches in a row against La Dea between 1964-1967. Added to that, the Milan-based outfit also came out on top when the two met in the UEFA Cup quarter-finals in 1991, securing a 3-1 aggregate success.
