Hearts

Hearts

Established in 1874, Hearts are the oldest Football club based in Edinburgh. Their full name is Heart of Midlothian, which was influenced by Walter Scott’s novel of the same name. Nicknamed ‘The Jam Tarts’, the club plays home matches at Tynecastle Park. They enjoyed great success in the 1950s and 1960s under the management of Tommy Walker. During that time, they won seven major honours, including the League and League Cup double in 1959/60. Hearts were the first side outside the Old Firm to achieve that feat.
