Hartlepool United

Hartlepool United

Founded in 1908, Hartlepool United are based in County Durham. They joined the Football League in 1921, but it wasn’t until 1968 that they won their first promotion. Nicknamed ‘Pools’ or ‘Monkey Hangers’, the North East side play home matches at Victoria Park. They’re well known for being the club where the iconic Brian Clough began his career in management. Many famous names are fans of Hartlepool. TV presenter Jeff Stelling and film director Ridley Scott are two of these.
