The first game between Getafe and Osasuna took place in the 1979/80 season, when both clubs were in the Segunda Division. The head-to-head is very even, with both enjoying their fair share of victories. Two of the biggest fixtures in this rivalry came in a 2007 Copa del Rey quarter-final tie. El Geta won the first leg 3-0, and despite a 1-0 success for Los Rojillos in the second leg, it was the Madrid-based outfit who went through with a 3-1 aggregate triumph.
