Overview

This fixture was first played in 1906, as Bristol City secured a convincing 3-0 victory against Derby County in the First Division. The Robins continued to enjoy early success, and in 1909 they beat The Rams 2-1 in an FA Cup semi-final replay at Stamford Bridge to secure a place in the final.

From that moment however, the tide has turned in this rivalry. It is now Derby who comfortably lead the head-to-head after they dominated this fixture between 1911 and 1965. During that period, the Pride Park natives won 15 of 19 matches, including an 8-0 demolition in 1923.
