Overview
Brighton & Hove Albion were promoted to the Premier League for the first time in 2017. There isn’t much to look back upon in regards matchups between themselves and Newcastle United. However, if you look further back into the history books, they first met in Newcastle’s 3-0 victory at St James’ Park in 1930 in the FA Cup. It wasn’t until 1961 when the sides met again in the league where Newcastle won both games 5-0 and 4-0.Since then there have been infrequent meetings between the two, until 2016 where they once again lined up next to each other in the Championship. Until that time the fixture was unkind to the Seagulls, however, they haven’t yet lost a game to the Magpies in the Premier League.
