Overview
Brentford and Sheffield Wednesday shared topflight status for two seasons from 1935 to 1936, as well as second tier status in the late 40s and early 50s. They were even in the old Division Three together in the late 70s.As Wednesday hit the heights of the Premier League, there was no league meeting between them from 1980 until 2003 when they once again faced off in the third tier. Wednesday beat the Bees in the semi-finals of the League One Play-offs in 2005 on their way to promotion. Now in the Championship, it’s been home advantage in this one in recent seasons. A 5-0 home advantage to Brentford in 2019/20.
