Overview
This rivalry first started way back in 1880 when the two clubs faced off in the FA Cup third round. It was Nottingham Forest who secured victory that day, romping to a 6-0 home success. In 1892 they renewed acquaintances and played a league match for the first time, with Forest coming out on top once more with a 1-0 win.Since then, however, Blackburn Rovers have been dominant in this fixture. Indeed, they have claimed some huge results against Forest including a 9-1 triumph in 1937. They also handed out a 7-0 thrashing in the Premier League in 1995, with Alan Shearer scoring a hat-trick for the Lancashire outfit.
