We’ve seen close to 80 fixtures in this Yorkshire derby down the years. Sheffield Wednesday are out in front in the head-to-head, but Barnsley have had their day too.Wednesday won the first ever encounter 5-1 in 1900 in Division 2. Most of these derbies were played in the second tier until the late 90s, but these two did face off in the Premier League for one season in 1997/98. Both matches were won 2-1 by the home side.
