These two Italian rivals first met in 1927, with Lazio securing a 3-1 victory at the Stadio Olimpico. However, since then this fixture has been totally dominated by AC Milan, who hold a significant lead in the head-to-head. The Rossoneri even enjoyed a run of just one defeat in 26 matches against the Rome-based outfit between 1979-1994, winning 15 during that period.It was the Biancocelesti who came out on top in one of the biggest fixtures between the pair though. In 1998, they contested the Coppa Italia final and despite losing the first leg 1-0, Lazio lifted the trophy after securing a 3-2 aggregate victory.
