It was way back in 1921 when these two clubs first locked horns, in a Prima Divisione match. AC Milan won it 2-1, and they have dominated this fixture ever since. Indeed, the Rossoneri have a comfortable lead in the head-to-head and even enjoyed a 29-match unbeaten run against Bologna between 1974-1995.Two of the biggest games the pair have played against each other came in 1968, when they were part of a four-team group in the final round of the Coppa Italia. Milan won 2-1 at the San Siro, before the Rossoblù won by the same score line in the reverse fixture. However, the victories were not enough for either as it was Torino who lifted the trophy.
