Also known as Super Welterweight, this division was established in 1920. With weights limited 154lb (69.85kg / 11st), the first sanctioned Light Middleweight championship title bout didn’t come until 1962, when Emile Griffith defeated Ted Wright via unanimous decision. Italian boxer Gianfranco Rosi holds the longest title reign with 11 title defenses.
