Rayo Vallecano

Rayo Vallecano

Rayo Vallecano were founded in 1924. Based in the Vallecas area of Madrid, they play home games at Campo de Fútbol de Vallecas. Historically, Rayo are the third best team from the city behind Real and Atletico. Their kit was inspired by River Plate. Like the Argentines, they wear white shirts with a red sash. This led to them taking the nickname Los Franjirrojos (The Red Sashes). Many notable players have represented the club in the past, including Diego Costa and Saúl Ñíguez.
