These two franchises first met in 1991. It was the Pittsburgh Penguins who enjoyed a perfect start to the rivalry. They thrashed the San Jose Sharks 8-0 in their initial meeting, before clinching a 10-2 win later in the year. The Pens also came out on top when the pair faced off in the 2016 Stanley Cup Finals. Led by coach Mike Sullivan, the Eastern Conference champions won the series 4-2. Overall, it’s always a hotly contested game when the Sharks face the Pens.
