Colorado Avalanche have achieved a remarkable amount in their short time as an NHL team. Founded as the Quebec Nordiques in 1972, the franchise would successfully move to Colorado in 1995 to play at the Ball Arena in Denver. Featuring in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference, the ‘Avs’ were successful from the very outset, winning the Stanley Cup in their first full NHL season.
