Overview

The Roughriders and the Blue Bombers traditionally play in the Labour Day Classic. They then also face off a week later in a game known as the Banjo Bowl. Foes since 1928, these two have faced off over 250 times in the Regular Season, play-offs and the Grey Cup. Their first Grey Cup encounter was in 2007, when the Roughriders ran out 23-19 winners. James Johnson was the MVP that day after intercepting a record three passes and scoring a 30 yard touchdown with one. The 95th Grey Cup was the first time a Labour Day matchup was contested in the showpiece final.
