Overview

These two franchises first played in 1995. Those still new to the NBA, the Toronto Raptors beat the Golden State Warriors 101-98 in their initial meeting. Since then, both have enjoyed strong spells of form. The Raptors went on an eight-game winning streak between 1997 and 2001. The Dubs then won eight in a row themselves between 2015 and 2018. It was in 2019 though, when this rivalry went up a notch, as the pair came face to face in the NBA Finals. The Warriors went into the series as defending champions. But they were unable to retain their crown as Toronto won 4-2 to secure their first NBA championship.
