This rivalry began in 1995, not long after the Toronto Raptors were formed. The Boston Celtics who got off to a good start. They won nine of the first 11 games between the pair. And they continued to have the edge in the 2000s and 2010s, finishing both decades with a winning record against Toronto. In 2020, the two teams met in the NBA playoffs for the first time. It was an epic Eastern Conference Semi-Finals series between them, which went all the way to the seventh game. Boston clinched a 92-87 win in the final game to win the series 4-3 and progress to the Conference Finals.
