OverviewThese two franchises first played each other in 1948. It was the Lakers (then based in Minneapolis) who won their initial game 88-67. Since then, these two have had some great battles. Many of those have come in the NBA playoffs, and one game in particular stands out. It came in the 1987 Western Conference Semi-Finals. The Lakers may have had Magic Johnson in their ranks, but it was Golden State Warriors ace Sleepy Floyd who took the headlines. He broke two NBA playoff records – the most points scored in a quarter and in a half – as the Warriors won 129-121.
