Established in 1883, the Philadelphia Phillies are the oldest continuous same-name, same-city franchise in American professional sports. A member of the National League East Division, they play home games at Citizens Bank Park. The Phillies won the World Series for the first time in 1980, defeating the Kansas City Royals 4-2. It wasn’t until 2008 when they won their second championship, but they did secure multiple NL pennants and divisional titles during that drought.
