Overview

1977 was the year that these two franchises first did battle. The Toronto Blue Jays won the first game they played. But after that, the Cleveland Indians managed to win each of the next seven games. One of their most memorable encounters came in 1981. Cleveland pitcher Len Barker threw a perfect game as they beat the Blue Jays 3-0. In 2016, the two went head-to-head in the American League Championship Series. It was the Indians who came out on top. They won by four games to one and went on to play in the World Series.
